As the <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_9c5f0b2b35fe9c84ec92c0ffd54a1f33\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.trainingpips.com\/index.php\/glossary\/law\/\"  data-mobile-support=\"0\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>law<\/a>, and civilization in general, has advanced over the past 3000 years, a fairly large number of <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_c8c9f68e786e7fe18d701288574b91da\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trainingpips.com\/index.php\/glossary\/legal\/\" data-mobile-support=\"0\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">legal<\/a> entities of various types have been created in order to give a certain structure to the world around us. These include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Corporations and partnerships of various kinds<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">States<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Counties<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">School districts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And many more<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Even though these entities exist only as lines on a map or words on a page, they have been given many of the rights normally given to real persons. And, at the same time, they have also been given certain responsibilities in the eyes of the <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_9c5f0b2b35fe9c84ec92c0ffd54a1f33\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.trainingpips.com\/index.php\/glossary\/law\/\"  data-mobile-support=\"0\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>law<\/a>. One of these responsibilities is that they can be held to <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_67684b945bf3b7dd5701ad1fa030f525\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trainingpips.com\/index.php\/glossary\/account\/\" data-mobile-support=\"0\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">account<\/a> in court. In other words, they can be sued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To go along with the responsibility of being able to be sued, these entities have been given the right to <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_fc31703c970977df6a93d816128e6346\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trainingpips.com\/index.php\/glossary\/notice\/\" data-mobile-support=\"0\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">notice<\/a> that an <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"cmtt_b7db846b4e8e7f58f22a7244cb4ba67e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trainingpips.com\/index.php\/glossary\/action\/\" data-mobile-support=\"0\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">action<\/a> is being brought against them.
